Writing and Producing

Nikki Nunziato is a New York based filmmaker creating narrative opportunities for complex, multifaceted female protagonists. A graduate of Fordham University, her writing is the product of visceral performance experience and the innate desire for intricate, deep world building across genres. Nikki’s acting process has always been about diving deep into the heart of a story. After thousands of hours on professional feature film sets, she realized that to go even deeper, she needed to write the story herself. Transitioning from actor to writer-producer was born of a necessity for agency; she no longer wanted to simply inhabit a world, she wanted to be the architect of its stakes while making bold statements.

In her script The Date, Nikki explores the friction between human intuition and the infiltration of technology in a dystopian future where looking a real person in the eyes becomes a radical act. By grounding high-concept stakes in grounded emotional realities, Nikki challenges the traditional "damsel" archetype, instead presenting women who are technologically savvy, tactically skilled, and unapologetically autonomous.

Beyond the digital frontier, Nikki utilizes film as a tool for ecological advocacy. Her project Sally Loves Seashells functions as both a tribute to familial legacy and a call to action for the preservation of the Florida Coral Reef. Whether navigating a dystopian subway or a threatened ecosystem, Nikki’s films emphasize that "people need people" and that the future of the world, and film, depends on our willingness to fight for authentic connection. Through her transition from actor to producer, she is actively building a career defined by the creation of original, demanding roles that prioritize the female experience in every frame.
